网讯9月29日，电影《里斯本丸沉没》官微发博，影片将代表中国内地报名竞逐奥斯卡最佳国际影片：“荣誉之战‼传递真相，共浴光影，荣幸代表中国内地与世界电影佳作同台竞技，角逐第97届奥斯卡金像奖‘最佳国际影片’！让真相之声响彻世界，共聆共鸣！”。影片导演、制片人方励也在博文中写道：“希望世界听到这个八十二年前的中国故事。”
电影《里斯本丸沉没》是一部东方的“敦刻尔克”，是一部关于纪念中国渔民伟大壮举的纪录片电影。电影人方励和摄制组通过详尽的历史调查，极尽所能地寻访英、美、日、中核心当事人及后代，试图无限接近中国舟山东极岛附近海底30米处的二战“死亡之船”——“里斯本丸”的沉船真相。
《里斯本丸沉没》于9月6日在中国内地上映，当前豆瓣评分9.3分。影片上映24天，累计票房达3359.2万元。
